David R. Money

David R. Money was named as executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary of First Data in 2007. In this position, he oversees the legal, corporate compliance, internal audit, and corporate security teams. Before becoming general counsel, Money served as deputy general counsel beginning in March 2004. During the preceding thirteen years he filled a series of positions with increasing levels of responsibility in the legal departments of First Data and its predecessors.


For eight years prior to joining First Data, Money was a partner in the law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook and McDonough in Salt Lake City. He is a member of the Colorado and Utah State Bar associations. Money attended the University of Oregon School of Law and was awarded a Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Utah.
